The Australian Sleep Co. Night Oil features camellia oil as its carrier. A 'carrier' oil is used to dilute an essential oil blend so that it can go further. You wouldn't want to use large quantities of your Ultimate Sleep Blend oil because it'd be expensive and unnecessary. Night Oil can be used as a massage oil and will still deliver the same sleep-promoting benefits.

We use a beautiful, certified organic camellia oil in our Night Oil. It absorbs rapidly and deeply into the skin and delivers the benefits of the sleep essential oils around the body more quickly.

We also add lovely evening primrose oil to our blend. Usually known for its anti-ageing properties, it softens, soothes and moisturises the skin.

People who suffer from sleep apnoea love Night Oil because they don't have to depend on its aromatherapy benefits. Though of course it smells divine, when you wear a CPAP mask, you can't smell the oils, and you're not supposed to add oils to your CPAP machine. But! By rubbing a little Night Oil on the soles of your feet, the lovely carrier oils will transport the therapeutic sleep blend where it's needed. The brain doesn't require aromas for this blend to work. Essential oil molecules are very, very small. When applied to the skin, they pass through the outer layer of the epidermis and into the bloodstream.

Where else can you add Night Oil?

Aside from the soles of your feet, you can add a little Night Oil to:

  • Inner wrists
  • Behind your ears
  • Armpits
  • Scalp

Being able to use Night Oil on the skin means it can be used even at times when you have a blocked nose due to a cold or allergy.

This winter, ask someone you love if they'd like a little Night Oil massaged into their feet or onto their scalp. A pair of fluffy socks or a cosy beanie will complete the picture and they can look forward to a beautiful night's sleep.
